About the Role…

 

As Social Care Development Consultant focusing on Children’s and Adults Services you will have a wide and varied role and will be part of a small but talented team of OD professionals. You will report to the Strategic Lead for Organisational Development and Engagement but work closely with, Principle Social Workers, Heads of Service and HR Business Partners within our Childrens and Adults Directorates. 

 

You will play a key role in supporting these services with the development and delivery of their people/workforce development plans, primarily focusing on Activity to support to attraction and development of Social Workers within Adults and Childrens. 

 

This is a career graded post and so applicants should be a qualified and registered social care professional with significant experience in a social care setting. Applicants should also have a willingness to learn and develop within the field of Learning and Organisational Development.  We will support the successful candidate to complete a relevant qualification in this field, whilst providing you with internal support, mentoring, and coaching. As such applicants must be committed to undertaking a professional qualification and development in this area.

About You…

 

To be shortlisted for this role you must be able to demonstrate that you have:

 

A professional qualification/degree in social work and are social work registered.

Significant experience of working within a social care setting.

Working knowledge of the Professional Capabilities Framework and Knowledge and Skills Statements.

Experience of coaching or facilitating others to learn and develop in their role.

Stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external partners and work effectively across systems.

Organisational and planning skills; managing multiple priorities to deliver outcomes to agreed deadlines.

An ability to take responsibility for their own learning and development able to keep up to date on all legislation, developments and best practice related to your area of work/practice and practice and share knowledge with others.

 

It’s a bonus if you have the below but not essential….

 

Level 5 Coaching Qualification.

An understanding of best practice and up-to-date theory, methodology and practical application in Learning and Organisational Development

Able to produce written reports and papers to a high standard.
